On Tuesday, Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana announced that he will be running for re-election in 2022.
And as he has been known to do, he used some colorful language to do it.
The Senator enjoys the endorsement of President Trump.
Kennedy To Louisiana: ‘I Will Not Let You Down. I’d Rather Drink Weed Killer’
Sen. Kennedy said in a video he shared on Twitter, “I promise I will always be your voice during the good times and the bad. Come hell or high water, your values will be my values.”
“I will never be silent when the radical nut jobs tell me to sit down and shut up,” the Republican added.
Kennedy then vowed, “I will not let you down. I’d rather drink weed killer.”

Former President Donald Trump Endorsed Sen. Kennedy In March
In early March, former President Donald Trump endorsed Kennedy for his Senate re-election bid.
In a statement from the Trump’s Save America, the former president gave Kennedy his full endorsement and said the Louisiana senator had a strong record during his time in office.
Trump On Kennedy: ‘John Has My Complete And Total Endorsement!’
“John Kennedy of the Great State of Louisiana is a spectacular Senator and person,” Trump said. “He is a tireless advocate for the people of his State, and stands strongly with the forgotten men and women of our Country.”
Trump added that he believed Kennedy was, “Strong on Energy Independence, the Military, our great Vets and the Border.”
“John has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” Trump added.

At the time, Sen. Kennedy told The Daily Caller, “I’m thankful for President Trump’s endorsement of my re-election next year to the U.S. Senate. God bless our country!”
This isn’t the first time Kennedy used creative language – he has a reputation as having quite the personality within the GOP.
Criticizing Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in 2020, Kennedy said of Pelosi to Fox News’ Sean Hannity, “Sean, with respect, there are times, particularly recently, when I think Speaker Pelosi is one of those people who tried Tide pods,”
Kennedy was referencing the viral trend in 2017 where young people consumed the laundry detergent tablets.
