A suspect held on charges stemming from the Capitol riot is alleged to have been “severely beaten” by jail guards, while another asserts others held over the events of January 6th are being subjected to “violence, threats and verbal harassment.”

Defendant Ryan Samsel is accused of “pushing over barriers and knocking down a police officer – causing her to suffer a concussion,” according to CBS.

Politico notes that Ronald Sandlin, another defendant from the incident, provided “a startling, graphic account” of events involving one detainee and correction officers.

During a court appearance via Zoom on Tuesday, Sandlin alleged that Samsel, “was severely beaten by correctional officers, [is now] blind in one eye, has a skull fracture and detached retina.”

Samsel’s attorney also claims he was “viciously and savagely” beaten.

“He has definitely suffered serious injuries, including a shattered orbital floor, a broken orbital bone, his jaw was broken, his nose was broken,” the lawyer stated.

Sandlin also accused jail guards of tackling Richard Barnett, a 60-year-old also charged in connection to the riot, “to the ground.”

He suggests those held in the Capitol riot “are scared for their lives … from correctional officers.”

A lawyer for Samsel declared that they plan to file a lawsuit due to the incident.

“We intend on filing a lawsuit against the two specific guards and the facility responsible for this scenario because Ryan Samsel did not deserve to get targeted and treated like this,” he said.

Another lawyer told Politico that the alleged incident is under investigation by the FBI.

Sandlin, meanwhile, says there is racial tension between the jail guards and the mostly white suspects being held at the prison.

He told the judge that one guard announced, “I hate all white people and your honky religion.”

Gulags are here.

Protesters are being beaten.

If you say anything, more beatings.

If you speak out, judges will say you don’t respect authority and deny bail.

Still Being Held In Prison

The first thought you might have upon hearing accusations by those involved in the Capitol riots against jail guards is, ‘They’re seriously still being held in prison?’

Indeed, we spent all last summer watching race riots and the arsonists, looters, and criminals involved, being consistently released without charges.

“Unlike the BLM and Antifa mobs that rioted and burned their way through American cities for much of last year, many of the people involved in the Capitol riot of January 6th are sitting in jail,” columnist Mike LaChance writes.

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson recently asked viewers why those involved in the Capitol riots are still in jail three months later. By contrast, he’s curious how left-wing rioters fared.

“How many Antifa rioters or BLM vandals can say [they were beaten]? Did they lose their eyesight from being beaten in jail?” Carlson asked.

A Reuters report late last month indicates some of the claims made by prosecutors in the Capitol riots have been abandoned. Claims that were widely reported in the media.

“Prosecutors made some serious claims after the deadly U.S. Capitol attack,” they write, citing claims that protesters had intended to murder lawmakers.

“But the Justice Department has since acknowledged in court hearings that some of its evidence concerning the riot … is less damning than it initially indicated,” Reuters reveals.
